I'm orginally from Wisconsin, but I've been a part of YMG for 13 years now. I've loved radio and music from the time I got a little white Panasonic AM radio for my 6th birthday. I grew up in Southeast Wisconsin, so I could listen to a lot of great stations out of Chicago and Milwaukee. I also had access to my older sister's turntable and album collection.
Each day, Parrish plays a uTunes playlist at noon. You pick the songs. Here's what I would choose...
YYZ from Rush
Nobody's Fault But Mine by Led Zeppelin
Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones
I've been trying to get in shape and spending more time running and biking, and I love the trails in Springfield and Chatham. If you haven't been on the Lost Bridge Trail (that starts by the IDOT building on Dirksen and ends in Rochester), you're missing out. It's beautiful...lots of trees.
Here's a picture I took with my iphone on the Lost Bridge Trail...
A quick thanks to everyone responsible for maintaining the trails and the group who helped build the "rest area" at the Rochester end of the Lost Bridge Trail!
If you're looking to get in shape and need something to push you, sign up for the Tour de Cure with the American Diabetes Association. It is June 9th and starts by the Lake Springfield Beach House.
In addition to being on the air in the afternoon, I'm also the program director for WYMG. So, if you ever have any questions, feel free to e-mail me.
